Arden Strachn: Go ahead and do something now. Then you can fix it better as you go along. The instalation of irrigation takes a while. And you need to think thru where things go. That can take a year in itself. The settling of the soil, yeah...not something I have to deal with so I''ll let you ponder it. Landscaping is a constantly changing thing. Plants grow. Mickey Isle: it is best if you have money. If you don't have money to do your landscaping then you can wait for awhile.
Todd Stogner:! If you have a basement it is better to wait as the ground around the foundation of the basement will settle some. Any time land is cleared to build there will be some settling of the soil.
Jerald Florence: There will be some settling of the soil wherever it was disturbed on the lot, but this usually doesn't prevent you from starting with some basic landscaping. Start this year with annual plants only. They will only live through the one season, so if you do need to level & fill-in low spots the next year, you won't have made a major investment in plants.Start planting shrubs and perenniels in the fall (or in the next year). They will cost more than annual plants, but with proper care you will have them for many seasons to come....Show more
