Home school and Marine Corps????????

Arnulfo Seegars: "In 2007, the dep. of protection changed its enlistment coverage so as that homeschoolers who obtain an AFQT (militia Qualification try) score of fifty or above will enlist as Tier one million. Homeschool scholars who score under 50 will enlist as Tier 2." i could propose performing some greater learn on it as this regulation replaced into exceeded in 2007, something could have replaced between then and now. verify the source for extra info.

Robt Heemstra: if you were serious about joining the marines you would print it out an show it to him. but remember when i comes to enlisting in the marines the are pretty strict. what you should do is go down to the recruit office an take the asvab practice an if you score the minimum the will consider taking you down to (meps) an letting you take the real asvab so you can enlist into the marines. an don't worry the practice test isn't that hard i got a 42 on it. but I'm studying for the real asvab to get a 50! for more benefits. p.s I'm going to the army for (11b infantryman 82nd airborne) good luck bro ;)...Show more

Emeline Albracht: You should share this article with him. The current state of the law might have changed AGAIN since the article was written, but it's worth a shot. But even if you do need the 15 credits, that's not a big deal. A lot of homeschoolers I grew up with pretty much done with their high school curriculum by 16 or 17 and had done a year of coursework at a community college by the time I graduated from public school. That's typically 24 credits right there. Some states let high school students take classes at community college for free. Definitely something to check on in your area....Show more

Ardell Luy: Absolutely you should show it to him, that should be all you need to enlist. Home schooled kids are a minority, and home schooled kids that want to join the Marines are an even lesser minority- I'm sure this recruiter just hasn't dealt with a! nyone in your position so he wasn't familiar with this law. Be! st of luck!

Marjory Stromme: DEFINITELY show him. HSLDA is trustworthy too.
