How do amusement park and carnival ride accidents happen?

Gwenda Micheals: When a person is too fat

Jana Sakasegawa: When I controle the rides their is the handle that I pulland it makes the rides go faster or slower and the bosssays for me not to make the ride to go fast or something will happen, but the little kids are saying as they fly by,make it go faster faster faster, oh my God oh Jesus helpme keep my mind on my work and not human words.in Jesus name Amen. Thank you in advance Jesus Christ....Show more

Samatha Nicar: Machines are no different than humans. Their parts wear out, sometimes unexpectedly. The ride in the recent Ohio accident had been inspected shortly before that carnival began. It passed. Metal fatigue is the suspected cause of the failure, and that's something that can't always be detected.Poor maintenance is sometimes the cause of accidents, just as the poorly-maintained human body is often the cause of severe and catastrophic health events. But how many times have you heard of someone who 'w! as in perfect health, they always took care of themselves' that died of a heart attack or some other sudden cause? It can happen with machines, too....Show more

Tatiana Evanosky: Amusement parks such as Six Flgs and Cedar Park and well maintainced. They are inspected daily. There are very few injuries.Carnie rides are not as well maintained. Or inspected as often. They are not held to same standards. Although the accident in Ohio was awful, you don't hear of too many that bad....Show more

Julienne Poplawski: Usually it's human error, improper rider behavior, mechanical malfunction or design flaw. In the case of the ohio accident, it was hidden damage which stradles many catagories. It should have been discovered with routine maintainace but was inaccessible due to a design flaw.

Danica Timperman: For the Fireball one, it was determined that the ride was corroded on the inside (the maintenance workers didn't notice because the outside looked normal). Thr! ough the wear and tear of the ride and motions of the ride, th! e corrosion got worse and then it started falling apart while it was in motion - throwing the riders into the air. For the girl that was scalped, her hair was caught in a piece of the ride and as it was moving, she moved one way, the ride moved the other and it pulled her hair. Things happen....Show more

Reyes Brunell: Hmm! Tear and wear?

Nikki Sypult: It's because rides require maintenance by skilled people. Have you ever looked at carnies, the people who work at carnivals? They are completely incapable of performing any kind of task as complicated as machine maintenance. I've worked in industrial maintenance for almost my whole life; I won't ride carnival rides.
