Lorine Helwick: The Army can be just as long depending on your MOS. The military has been exceeding recruiting goals. You can be in DEP for a year.If you want to earn your college degree while you serve it would be better to go reserves or NG. Taking classes while on AD is hard. It can be done but it will take time. Keep in mind no matter what branch you can deploy. The Army will let you pick your MOS. Not sure how it works with the Navy....Show more
Oscar Waddups: My hair is just above my shoulders... I hate the thought of cutting it because I want to grow it out. I have even thought about getting hair extensions (the really nice ones that last 6-8 months). Yes, hair will grow back, but I don't want to look like a boy either!
Dorinda Metzer: With out looking it up, I believe that AR 670-1 says that a females hair cannot touch the collar, ie; you can pin it up, put it in a bun etc when in uniform and let it down when off duty. Bottom line up front (BLU! F) don't cut it until you are at basic and have their guide lines.
Tosha Tawney: at 29 years old best to stay out of the armed services.
Shan Lanen: If you've seen a psychologist or mental health professional for a reason that wasn't related to marital problems, family, or grief, then list it. If it was marital, family, or grief counselling, still answer "yes" but you don't need to provide any further info.
Berry Gilmore: key word: unlessif you want to be completely honest, list anything... you can say "In full disclosure, I did see a family counselor when my dad died, marriage broke up, (whatever), but that is the ONLY reason I have seen anyone."otherwise, if it WAS for marital, family, or grief counseling, not related to violence by you- then you can leave it BLANK....Show more
Charline Granes: Can you pull it back in a bun that is at the base your head? If so, then DON'T cut it!!! Remember you can use hairspray, gel, bobby pins, etc...even at bas! ic.
Amada Greising: They want you to list any and all tr! eatments you have had with mental health professionals that apply to you as an individual. If however you were in either marital or family counseling, you do not need to include that as they could not verify anything since it involves people other than yourself and the therapist could not confirm anything if all people attending did not agree to it. So, if you went into therapy because you were depressed and had individual sessions, you would need to list those as well as the contact information for the provider or practice you saw. However, if you and your wife went into counseling to work out issues in your marraige, those do not have to be included....Show more
Merlin Fleischhacker: I am 29 and I want to earn my college degree. I would love to join the Navy but I hear that the wait time is very long, close to a year at best and there is not a lot of jobs to take. I am currently studying to take the ASVAB using "ASVAB for Dummies book" and "March 2 Success." If! the wait time for the Navy so long, it is best to choose the Army instead??? Serious answers only please, thanks....Show more
Julieta Suleiman: Depends on your interest, desires and long term goals. What would you be interested in doing? Some jobs you can only do in the Army, some only in the Navy and some in both. Same in any of the branches.Narrow your choices down then compare benefits. For example you might want to be a Medic (or a Corpsmen in the Navy)...basically the same job...but maybe the Army is offering a larger bonus and shorter enlistment length as an example. If you want to be on a submarine..then obviously the Navy is the only choice. If you want to drive Tanks then obviously the Army is the only choice...Edit: Daniel is an ignorant moron....Show more
Arlene Maycumber: First the general answer: the point of a security clearance is for the granting agency to convince itself that there is nothing in your background that can be used to blackmail ! you or that might prevent you from maintaining the security of any clas! sified information in your possession. As to this question in particular, if it wasn't for a violent or severe episode, then I would probably omit it. However, if an adjudicating authority might construe the surrounding circumstances as having a negative effect on your maintaining security of classified material, list and explain it.Hope this helps. Best of luck to you....Show more
Marielle Hedeiros: you only have to say yes if its not grief, marital or family related
Nia Monopoli: The last one listed is the correct reading of it. People might see a mental health professional for marriage counseling but that would not be a mental health issue but if was because of depression because of marriage problems then it would be a mental health issue. Safer to list and explain then to not list and have it found out later and become as issue then; use the exceptions listed as the only exceptions and then you can look and discuss them. Yes anger management in general! and martial problems or counseling based you needing anger management or being violent in the marriage would be. That information is required to be revealed when you are going for a security clearance whether you are military or civilian so you are required to provide it; if you don;t want one then look for a position that does not require that high of a clearance....Show more
Kirk Coolbeth: Save your money the Army will take care of that for you and it's at no cost to you. And everything like uniforms and military stuff is all free,to include food.So enjoy and take .
Esmeralda Pigram: You might, jst cut is short; there's a regulation for female haircuts that you can read up on in AR-670-1 which will help you make a choice.I'm a guy though and we get the same haircut style; clan shaven.
Adelle Weight: Let the service decide how long your hair should be for basic training. Unless the recruiters have advised you otherwise.
Lynn Hollars: You can show! up for Basic any way you like -- but you will get a cut once you get t! here.
Lia Argall: I would say it says to list any mental-related info for sure, then ONLY put in the therapist info unless its a relational or grief therapy that isn't involved with violence on your part.
Mauro Cowee: As you put it here if you answered yes and have seen a psycho for marital, family, or grief; I would state yes and one of those statements. If it is for the other option then you need to put yes and explain in further detail, with the information given. Either way if you explain it out fully that wouldn't hurt.
Roland Stampley: BOTH SUCK. You WILL REGRET IT.MARK MY WORDS.DON'T JOIN.BETTER REMEMBER MY COMMENT IF YOU JOIN.**AND KISS MY *** FOR THE PEOPLE THUMBING ME DOWN. Cassey Hollinghurst: I just helped my boyfriend fill one of these out :-)If you ! have Never seen a mental health specialist check "No"If you have seen a mental health specialist for marital, family, or grief counseling, not related to violence by you then check "Yes" and just put the reason as they stated it (marital/family/grief) in the explanation space. (Note: These are usually couple or group counseling sessions)If you have seen a mental health specialist for reasons other than what they have stated (reasons other than marital/family/grief) then you need to check "Yes" followed by all the information requested in the explanation space. (Note: These are usually one-on-one sessions with you and a mental health specialist)...Show more
Chris Rosenkranz: If im a medic for the army would it be easy to become a Firefighter (I understand the physical requirements and tests) but to get hired would I stand out alot from other applicants?
Elvin Mannheimer: You will get it cut the way they want it regardless of what you do to your hair, unless your ! bald.
Tricia Dossous: The military won't help you that much to be! come a firefighter. It's relatively easy to become one. I'm a combat medic. As for wanting to become a firefighter after the military, you can join as a firefighter in the military
Aldo Decurtis: NO
Adrian Sherlin: Not necessary, they will make everyone get hair cuts weither you need one or not, (it's a bonding thing) I would just save the money. Different units have slightly different hair care standards, as long as it meets regulations. Some units are a bit more "Gung-Ho" about short hair. Some can be quite lax if the job allows. Wait and see what the Instructors say.
Roosevelt Pendill: I am a girl
Abby Herwood: List them all, any circumstances.
Jannette Kotz: It does not matter if you get it cut or not, they are still going to give you a haircut
Hugo Pittari: I think what it's saying is suppose you say yes to the first part - âIn the last 7 years, have you consulted ..." = yesThen for"âIf you answered "Yes," provide the dates of tr! eatment ..." = here you don't have to answer if the treatment was due to: -Marital problem e.g. marital counselling, unless you were violent or abusive and the treatment centred round that.- Family problem again family therapy, etc unless you were violent.- Grief counselling e.g. in case you seek help if someone died or for some reason. But you have to report if you needed help because of some violent behavior, Mood disorders, Schizophrenia, Anxiety Disorders etc....Show more
Dallas Bartolini: Some places will put more emphasis on having medical experience than others. Some firefighters won't do very much EMS, whereas others have their Firefighters doubling over as EMS. For public service jobs, it's always good to have military experience.
Dulcie Edis: it depends on what you want. i began in the army but transferred to the navy to become a diving officer. i stayed 20 years in the navy and 5 in the army, reaching the rank of lt comd. if you want travel, securit! y, education, benefits and job satisfaction i recommend the navy over t! he army. the benefits are similar but the navy travels more and with a ship you have all your friends and kit with you when you go. also unless you are on duty your time is your own in foreign port. for some that means one or two duty days a week...the rest is off. so i say #1 is navy, #2 Marines, 3. army, 4. airforce. cg is not really military...they are just wannabees lol...Show more
Lino Cawthorne: Do you have enough hair that you can put it into a bun above your collar? If it's not long enough for a bun, then your hair has to be cut so that it's not touching your colar when it's down. So it would be a little shorter than shoulder length. If you can pull it back, then I would reccommend to keep it that length (or longer). That in between stage (when it's not quite long enough to pull back) is a pain because you have to get a hair cut every 3-4 weeks to keep it off your collar. I hope this helps....Show more
