Roland Stampley: Hopefully, your teacher was just introducing you to fallacious arguments and not trying to relate these "riddles" as logical arguments.If the teacher was really trying to shock the class into thinking that one shouldn't reccomend that a poverty stricken woman should stop having children, then that teacher probably doesn't even understand what a fallacy is. I hope you're smart enough to realize that the Beethoven argument makes absolutely no sense. Even if the circumstances of the "riddle" were true (which they are not), it is irrational to suggest that every poor-mother-with -8-kids should c! ontinue to reproduce because her next-born could be the new Beethoven or Einstein or what-have-you....Show more
