Irvin Guiles: Once the repairs on the car exceed half of the final price of the car, its ridiculous to keep pouring money into it.
Ariel Arons: well its hard to say, vehicles can make it to 300,000 easy with proper maitinace. take care of the vehicle and it should last. also gasoline engines tend to not last as long as diesel, diesels can last to 1,000,000 a significant difference. but with proper care and replacement of the usual parts such as starter alternator and so forth should last u many years and miles
Chet Nozick: If you know it has not been properly maintained why bother fixing it.
Rocio Karvis: I believe it depends. If it was damaged because of something you did, then likely not covered. On the other hand, it is a matter of safety and if it had premature wear (wear that was not due to damage you caused), the warranty should cover. Pay very close attention to what dealer claims is reason for tie rod wearing after only 19K miles... most tie rods! will last over the average powertrain warranty (e.g., 4 yr. and 60K miles).
Claire Billegas: form high mileage mentioned it is probable engine is down on compression and worn out so will lack power though once speed is up will not be so noticeable. this will be in addition to the problem of sputtering which indicates a misfire and will tend to be either ignition circuit issues or fuel. likely hood is ignition. check plugs . and distributor side eg cap.rotor or if electronic coil pack....Show more
Merlin Fleischhacker: Nope it sure isn't,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Eldridge Rieves: Not worth it
Joey Mekeel: how about you pay the mechanic the 2900 to fix it OR in some states they have boces prorgams like CTECH that kids learn how to pursue a career you could call and inquire avout having it fixed if not pay to have it fixed then sell it then buy yourself a good car that is cheap and maintain it its not hard to do check your fluids at least 1! time a week oil change every 3,000 miles or 4 months and dont! use mystery oil thing it will **** up your engine
Tamatha Neubaum: I have a 2006 Dodge Durango with high miles... it has 190,000 miles and I wanted to know how many miles these trucks usually go up to???
Rayford Latz: My car is 2.5 years old.. It has almost 19,000 miles on it and I also got the extended warrenty. When I had my tired rotated the guy said my tie rod is showing some premature wear and I need to contact my dealership to see if its covered... I am going to call first thing in the morning but I just wanted to know if anyone knows
Floyd Labuda: the car does had 222k miles and idk when the last tuen up was done...but i dont want to throw money at my car, i want to solve the reason why it sputters only in the beginning gears, but is fine when driving at higher speeds, and why under a load or up hill, the acceleration isnt as quick as flat land and down hill. Could switching out the plug possibly fix this? thanks
Faustino Mellerson: I would de! finitely just change the spark plugs, plug wires, rotor cap and etc, change the oil and do most of the basic tune up since it isnt really expensive, but acceleration is slow up a hill regardless, also is the car manual or automatic? I always stay in 1st or 2nd gear on hills depends on how steep, if its like real steep i stay in 1st
Demetrius Coaster: buy a like 07 or higher used from a certified used car dealer is ganna be a money and time saver :)
Jonathan Schlussel: Well whether you fix this or not, if you dont maintain your cars you will be paying a lot more whether it is a beater or not. But I suppose for you it would be better to own a beater, older car parts are cheaper, can even get them from the scrap yard and generally easier to work on so cheaper for labour.
Wilbur Marksberry: Your car is still under the 3 year 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty so YES it is still covered.........gl
Malcom Bourek: automatichas coil packsno CEL illuminated!
Rheba Cockman: Why bother? Buy a Mtn Bike or a bus pass instead.!
Christiane Cattano: When your auto repairs start costing more than the caris worth, it's time to stop. when the repairs cost more thanyou can afford, it's time to stop. If you pay all the repairbills and the car is still a junker, don't get it fixed. That carhas already broke you, it's ready to continue the job. Either get a clunker (forget about the car the girls like),or a scooter or ride the bus...until you can save some $$$....Show more
Moises Rupinski: Highest I saw was 350,000 km or 220,000 miles on a stock transmission/engine. The trans will fail before the engine in the durango. I put a link in my sources, it will tell you the problems they have from people who owned them. 2004 to 2009 durangos are all the exact same mechanically, so look up those years in the website I posted...Show more
Arnulfo Seegars: If it's really worn out (to the factory's spec) not only will they replace it but they will align your car, too. That's what a warranty is fo! r...premature parts wear within a certain amount of miles.
Annabell Bevier: options are having the mech do the repair OR see how much you can get for the car and get a slight beater. something thatll run. best advice is getting a honda. since they can run on almost no oil.. well built engines.
Palmira Lochridge: Yuck, sometimes you got to just cut your losses and run. 280k is a good run and a new motor is a big job. Unless you realy like the car it may be time to move on.
Tobie Oshea: Mine wasn't. stupid used car dealer sold me a car with bent tie rods and I ended up paying I think it was a little over 2k to get it replaced.
Keven Drumgole: If you can't maintain your car properly (forget to change oil!!!) you should abandon driving a car, get a bicycle and start to use transit. You will save thousands of dollars.
Curtis Josef: Having spent various years interior the motor vehicle commerce curiously such as you have bought an coverage style gua! rantee meaning the broker has bought of the legal accountability to a t! hird occasion coverage organisation. you will maximum probable discover that the warrant covers the bits that seldom pass incorrect like engine bearings, gearbox and consistent with risk lower back axle. different niggling bits that generally pass incorrect are no longer often coated. grasp and so on (which needless to say would not prepare on your case besides) or on your case, motor vehicle transmission shaft or replace wont be coated. Sorry to declare that my guess is that in spite of is misguided wont be coated. yet you may ask for a replica and study by using (in case you may artwork your way contained in the direction of the jargon). Any probs, provide me a decision.
